Welcome to The Towers at CCNY, an apartment-style residence hall on campus.

The Towers offers comfort and convenience in an environment that encourages students to explore academic, social, and cultural opportunities. The Residence Life Staff is committed to providing a great place for students to live and learn through a highly engaged Resident Assistant staff, responsive maintenance team, and 24-hour security at our welcome desk.

Your housing cost depends on your apartment type and bedroom occupancy. Please click HERE for detailed information on the housing costs.  Posted costs include all utilities (including cable and internet), free laundry, and unlimited use of the fitness center, music rehearsal room, and all recreational amenities.

No, housing fees are paid directly to The Towers electronically, by mail, or in-person.

Payments can be made online through the Resident Portal or directly to the Housing and Residence Life at The Towers by check, money order, or credit card.  Students will receive information about how to register and log-in to their Resident Portal prior to move-in.

Any financial aid (i.e., grants, loans, scholarships, etc.) remaining after tuition and fees are paid can be used for housing at The Towers. Any portion of the housing cost not covered by financial aid will be an out-of-pocket expense for the student. Students interested in deferring their housing costs in anticipation of a financial aid refund are required to submit proof of approved financial aid August 1st.

When you submit an application, you are letting us know you are interested in living in the The Towers. There is no official or binding agreement when you submit just your application.

When you sign a License Agreement, you are signing a binding contract to reside in The Towers for the full term of the Agreement and agreeing to all the terms and conditions contained within the document.

The Towers is a modern building with all the necessary components to provide a safe and comfortable living experience. A courtesy officer is on-duty at the Welcome Desk, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, to monitor the entrance and sign-in/sign-out all guests.  A key fob system is employed at the building entrance, turnstile, elevators, and apartment doors.  Closed-circuit cameras are also located throughout the building’s hallways and common areas. All guests are required to be accompanied/escorted by their host resident while in the building.

Yes, the building is open for students to stay on-campus throughout the duration of the academic year including over Winter Break and Spring Break. Information about summer housing will be published in early spring.

Yes, all bedrooms have one bed, desk and chair, chest of drawers, and built-in closet per occupant. Kitchens include a refrigerator, microwave, cabinets and cook-top stove. Three-bedroom and four-bedroom units also include a chair, sofa, and coffee table.

As a parent, you may want information regarding your student living in The Towers at CCNY. We recognize how important parents and other family members are to the success of our students, but we are limited to the information we can share by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which protects and governs the release of certain information. With regards to housing and pursuant to the amended FERPA, directory information, which may be made public without a student’s written permission, shall include: name, address, phone number, and email address. 

Housing and Residence Life takes great care to protect the confidentiality of our residents. Information will be posted/released under the following circumstances:

  • First names of students on door decorations.
  • First names of students on bulletin boards (for building community).
  • Full name of student when an award or recognition has been achieved.
  • Full name of students participating in a leadership group or association.
  • Staff who need to create floor lists.
  • Staff who wish to create social networking or electronic communities, or other forms of communications between residents.

Residents will be given the option to opt-out of these lists, electronic communities or communication.
We are not able to share information with family members regarding roommate conflicts, judicial issues, or other student conduct related issues. Should your student bring an issue to your attention, please encourage them to contact the Housing and Residence Life staff members directly to resolve the situation. If your student wants us to discuss these matters with you, they will need to provide written consent and discuss this option with us personally.
Please know we will contact you if your student is involved in an emergency situation.
